Hello Stephen, I am afraid that if you don't have an area for your marriage, it is going to be difficult. I married here in Spain and I am 100% positive that there is no record in the UK of my marriage. The only place that it may be mentioned is on a renewal of a British Passport, but I am not to sure about that. If you can find the area that they were possibly married in Italy, you could write to the Registry office " Civil archives" requesting information.
