John Floyd was also in the Rev War, the information I copied down gave his marriage date as, 4 July 1783, Lunenburg, VA. Spouse, Nancy Andrews. He was a private from North Carolina Militia. John Mangum Jr., 1763, Lunenburg, VA and Mary Murdoch or Jemimia Goggans are the parents of my g-g grandfather Wiley P. Mangum, born 1795, NC. I cannot find the marriage dates for the marriages of John Mangum, so, I am not for certain which one of these women he was actually married to in 1795. Several of John Floyd and Nancy Andrews's children intermarried into the families that both Mary Murdoch and Jemimia Goggans were from. Wiley P. Mangum's wife Mary McSwain, born 1801, Chatham, NC, was the daughter of Martha Andrews and John McSwain. The other siblings were born in Tennessee, so, I am assuming John McSwain and Martha Andrews came to Tennessee from NC about 1802-1806. Jo Ann

War pension records are full of data that the courthouse will never have.
