Hi Carol and Sue, Thanks for all the post on William Andrews and Avis. My great great grandfather Thomas Andrews b. 1795 lived on land that could have been William and Avis Homeplace off of Butterwood Rd. in Dinwiddie South of Petersburg West 460 There is an old Cemetery on Butterwood Rd. known as the Vaughan Cemetery many unmarked graves are there .WPA Records are in print on the known burials there . That land 16 acre's was Thomas Andrews land at one time. His son John Andrews purchased the land after the taxes were not paid for several years 1865 , 1868 and 1870-71. I am do believe that Thomas was a grandson of William but have no proof I have that missing generation between somewhere between 1750-1795. Thomas had two sons named first born son David Thomas and John Nathaniel was second son. Thanks again, Nell in Carson, Va.
Although I have good information on some of William and Avis's children, there are some that I do not. I have next to nothing on their son John, who was married to Lucy. A Mecklenburg Co. deed mentions them in 1773, and I see the two of them in one as late as 1781. I have no children for this couple, when they died, etc. I have very little on Thomas, who died in Lancaster Co., SC. I have nothing for Richard. Nothing for Eleazor. If anyone has further information on these men, please share with us. Perhaps Nell will spot something that helps her.
