This William ANDREWS seems to be the William ANDREWES who patented "100 acres lying on the Easterne Shoare of the Bay of Chesepeiacke; join.g to land of Capt. Willm. Epes" on 14 March 1628. [See Land Office Patents No. 1, 1623-1643 (v.1 & 2), p. 71 (Reel 1).] It is asserted that this first Patent was for transportation of a Robert OLDER?? and John HOLMES, who are said to have arrived on the Southampton in 1622 at the expense of a William FERRAR? But for reasons unclear William ANDREWS is credited with the land. This also seems likely to be the SAME William ANDREWS who patented "100 acres upon a creek called the Old Plantacon Creeke" on 20 June 1635 and who seems to have also patented an additional "200 acres on the Northward side of the mouth of a creeks called Hungers Creeke" on the same date. The Hungars Creek Patent for 200 acres expressly identifies the four persons transported by William ANDREWS as: Susanna ANDREWS, the wife of Wm. ANDREWS Robert JOHNSON ???? SIMS James LITTLEJOHN The Plantation Creeke Patent is in consideration of the transportation of: Richard EVANS Zacharias TURNER One possible marriage record for William and Susanna ANDREWS is: William ANDREWES m Susan HARRISON on 02 FEB 1631 at Saint Gregory By Saint Paul, London, London, England [IGI Batch No. M054261] What other information, if any, is known about the origins of this William ANDREWS and what is known of his wife and children??
