The William G.(Gaines) ANDREWS b 1796 is, I believe, the son of William (23FEB1758-3MAY1821)and Caty ? ANDREWS (15MAY1770-28FEB1805) who had children as follows: William Gaines, Elizabeth Garnett, Ava and Nancy. If my information is correct, he is then the grandson of Mark and Ava GARNETT ANDREWS. There is what is called "The Garnett Andrews line) which produced Judge Garnett ANDREWS, a prominent figure in Georgia. Elizabeth SMITH Andrews MAY be the granddaughter of Elijah (1761-1839) and Martha JENKINS SMITH although Larkin is not listed in the information I have, which lists the children as John, William (14JUL1789), Jeremiah "Jerry" (b.1791), and Bonnetta (18NOV1793 - 1844), and other children. Bonetta SMITH m. Lewis McKEE/McKEY. I will be glad to share what I have in more detail if you're interested. I'd also be interested in receiving any source material you have concerning the surname ANDREWS (as we haven't figured out quite where my ancestor Frederick ANDREWS c1800-1846 came from).
