First marriage to Julia Ann. Children were Bill (William), Margaret, and perhaps Flora. Second marriage to my grandmother, Lydia Caroline Cheek ("Callie"), born 1895 probably in Guilford County or nearby, died 1977 in Eden NC. Manuel died of TB in 1936 in Spray NC. Their children were Edith Lenora (my mother), Ethel, Mildred, Annette, and James Franklin. My grandmother had a brother, Charlie, also dead (cancer). I believe that my grandfather had a sister named Mattie (died in Greensboro NC), a sister named Kate, a sister named Minnie, and possibly a brother named Mack.
