I descend from his daughter Sally Katherine Andrews who married Samuel Preston Chandler in Denton County Texas. My mother is Sammie Faye Chandler Miller, the daughter of Sally Katherine "Kate" Andrews and Samuel "Sam" Preston Chandler. I have been working on the Andrews family for 20+ years without much luck. I have also met another relative that is from your line, she has visited in my home several times and she is a lovely lady.......Key Andrews Nelson from Kimball, NE. Recently I have found that John Harris Andrews mother was Mary Elizabeth (maiden name not knownyet)....I believe she married for the 2nd time to James L Blewett who was 71 yrs old in the 1870 Wise County Texas Census. The listing shows James Bletwett age 71, wife Mary age 39 and then Mary's three sons......James (James Rolen Andrews), George (George Allen Andrews) and John ....our (John Harris Andrews). The puzzling thing is why are they listed under the surname Blewett instead of Andrews. By the time of the 1880 Wise County Texas Census Mary Elizabeth is a widow with these same 3 sons and 4 younger kids....(Sallie, Joseph, Granger and Ann all with the last name of Blewett). For years I have butted my head against the wall looking for John Harris Andrews. I knew that there was some sort of connection to a Blewett family, but didn't know what. I recently purchased the Book....The Pioneer History of Wise County, pub 1908 by Cliff Cates. In this book is a listing of the old se! ttlers reunion attendees....on this list is G. A. Andrews, J. A. Andrews and J. H. Andrews.....I started tracking G. A and J R thinking maybe they were brothers of John Harris Andrews since they all came to Wise County at the same ti me. The break through came when I found George A. Andrews living in the household of Mary Elizabeth Blewett in 1910 Wise County Texas. So I started following Mary Elizabeth Blewett and that's when I found her with the other 2 boys J R and JH in other census records. My mother always said I had a Blewett cousin who lived in Borger, TX (15 miles from where I grew up in Fritch, TX...north of Amarillo) but I never met the Blewetts and never knew how they connected to my family. I have been interested in researching and working on my family tree for over 20 years now. Please respond I can hardly wait to hear from you !!!!!!!!
