Andrews Dies at Home Here Last Friday" James Sellie Andrews, a long-time resident of Bonifay, died at his home in southwest Bonifay last Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock after an extended illness. Funeral services were held at Live Oak Church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with Rev. Spencer Pippin, Rev. J.H. Christie and Rev. I.A. Cadenhead officiating. Burial was in Live Oak Cemetery. Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Active pallbearers were T.B. Shirah, Henry Ray Kent, Glenn Chestnut, Wilmer Jones, Mack White, Ed Hayes, Cliff Chitty, Odis Pitts. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. L.H. Paul, E.J. Folmar, J.L. Kirkland, J.C. Swindle,Sr., J.T. Evans, Henry Sapp, Clyde R. Brown, A.P.Drummond, Klein McDonald, Judge Comer White, H.B. Douglass, Rev. O.B. Harris, Earnest Whiter, Ned Brock, J.D. Judah, T.H. Hinson, Alto Howell, W.R. Faircloth, Bob Allen, R.H. Johnson, C.N. Belser, A.C. Jernigan, T.M. Creel. Mr. Andrews was 83 years of age, being born in Alabama Feb. 7, 1875. He had lived in Bonifay for the past 40 years and served as sheriff of Holmes County in 1917-1918. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Bonifay Assembly of God. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Texie Ann Andrews; seven sons, Rev. Emory Andrews, Phenix City; J.Edward Andrews, Bonifay; Theodore Andrews, Cocoa; Rev. Wade Andrews, Ray Andrews, Sheriff Cletus Andrews, and Palmer Andrews, all of Bonifay; five daughters, Mrs. Ethel Land, Mrs. Minnie Judah, Mrs. Cora Nelson, Mrs. Clora Weeks, Mrs. Myrtle Martin, all of Bonifay. There are 49 grandchildren, 67 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren." I hope this information helps.
