    3. I know from old listings that every southern Andrews family has a James in almost every household, but I will try again. James A. ANDREWS born about 1842 somewhere in Georgia, US. Married Martha Heath also of Georgia b about 1838. They moved to Arkansas in time to be shown on the 1880 census, Magnolia, Arkansas. In 1910 he applied for a Confederate pension stating that he served in Company A, 59 Georgia Infantry from 1861-1865. Pension was denied on the grounds that he was not indigent. I do not find him listed in that unit, but there was a Heath in it. I did find a Confederate record of James A. Andrews as a private, Comapny A., Phillips' Legion, Georgia Volunteers from June to July 1861, I don't know if it is the same person or even related. There was a John Andrews whose file was adjacent to his in the chronological pension applications as though they might have come in at the same time. He served Company B 1st Ga, reserves July 1863-May 1865. The children of James and Martha as of the 1880 census are: James F. Andrews b abt 1863 Reuben Henry "Bud" b nov 1, 1865 William W. b abt 1868 Martha J b abt 1871 John Thomas b abt 1874 Elizabeth F. b abt 1878 Family records on Reuben Henry ANDREWS give his birthplace as Rome, Floyd County, Georgia. My line is Reuben Henry and I have additional information on that line. Family legend is that James A. Andrews' father and grandfather were also named James and one of his family was mayor at some time of Augusta, Georgia. I have no documentation. Augusta, Rome, and organization area for 59th Georgia infantry are in very different parts of Georgia. No 2 are near each other. Any links backward would be much appreciated. I would be happy to share what I have. Linda
