I hope this helps, not confuse, anyone. Understand...I did not pursue these men to any degree. Robert 1790+- PA m. Catherine Sargent (?) from Can. This couple had a son Robert G. in MI 1823+-. They moved to Greene/Calhoun Co.IL.1830, and there they raised their family and died. Some of the children/grandchildren married into the Russell family. There is a good amont of information about this family at the Calhoun Co.IL site. Joseph b. VA., son John, and wife moved from VA>KY were in Green Co. IL. 1825/30. This family owned land in Green Co. IL. Later portions of Greene County was given to Jersey Co., Macoupin Co.. Macoupin Co.IL. is were they lived and raised their families. There is good info on this family at the Macoupin Co. IL. site. Joel, my GGgrandfather b. 1822 St. Clair Co., MI. is found 1850 in St. Louis as a RIVERMAN. 1860 in Jersey Co.IL. with family-first son John. Mother was SARAH b. 1895 PA. Father died after Joel's birth. Sarah married William HILL St. Clair Co. MI. Hopes this helps....
