    1. [ANDREWS-L] "Presbytery of West Lexington"?
    2. The Auchs
    3. My Dr. Reverend Lewis F.Wilson ANDREWS is son of John ANDREWS, a Presbyterian minister in the early 1800s. I have them in western PA after 1813 when John transferred to the Washington Presbytery and eventually LFW went to school in Washington Co., Pa. In 1814 John started a religious newspaper in Chilcothe Ohio. I know John transferred to Washington Co. Presbytery from the "Presbytery of West Lexington" and I believe that is located in Kentucky (not Massachusetts). I have LFW born approx. 1802 from census and biographies about his later role as a Unitarian Universalist preacher. He is in the 1830 census index in Pennsylvania (Washington Co.) but I haven't viewed the record. (another researcher had the index on a fee-service) I don't believe census records that early were as helpful as later records. He is in the 1850 Bibb County GA census with his family. Unfortunately this census claims NC-born, and given the family's lives that I have documented, I think it's a mistake. He died before 1880. I am now looking for his father and mother John and <wife> name unknown c. 1800.in either western PA, KY or OH. His mother is suspiciously absent in all accounts I have found...given the times, I suppose it's not unusual but it doesn't help me! I might guess his mother is Helen because later LFW's oldest daughter is named Helen (it doesn't carry from his wife's family - his wife was Jane and her mother was Harriet). Thanks for any direction that can be recommended. Christina Auch mailto:theauchs@earthlink.net Personal Family History website http://freepages.family.rootsweb.com/~familiesacrosstime/index.htm
