I know in researching Aaron Perry that he is difficult to follow. To date, I have not located him prior to Calhoun County AL. According to the census records in Calhoun County, Aaron Perry, father to Nancy, was born in North Carolina about 1780. It may be possible that the Gray families may be related but unknown. One of the sons is named Gray Perry; also known as A. G. Perry, possible Aaron Gray Perry. It may be a coincidence that my ancestor is also named Aaron Perry Bowling. We too are stonewalled in Georgia due to the courthouse burning. Last known place in Georgia our ancestors were to be was in Gwinnett County Georgia. Prior to this is unknown but believe they may have come from North or South Carolina. There are Cherokee families that surround our own families in Calhoun. We do have Indian ancestry but our families have not been found on the rolls. I don't have enough information concerning Aaron Perry to conclude that he too is Cherokee. If there is a relation between the families it may be possible that he is. I will mention that Aaron Perry is not listed as a neighbor but is on the 1850 Census. One further mention, the Allford surname was checked upon and found in one or two references that it could be Allred. We have Allred's in our lines so I have kept that thought in mind. I was told that it is a fine line between the two names and shouldn't be taken as a variant. If you find Thomas Andrews related then the Allford families would be a relation due to Nancy and Jane being sisters. Good Luck! Mary
