Can someone help me to find information on John C. ANDREWS? Is there somewhere I can look for information on a physician from 1875 - 1880? Did he die and is he buried in Missouri? How do I find where he took his training? John C. ANDREWS was 28 at the time the 1870 US Census was taken. He is shown as as a Physician - living in Hillsboro, Rock Township, Jefferson County, Missouri. With wife Matilda and children Jennie and Texas. By 1880 Matilda is widowed and living in Boston with two more children. Her son John is age 10 and listed as born in Illinois. Her daughter Mabel is age 3 and listed as born in Mississippi. (However later records show Mabel born in Maine.) Any leads would be appreciated. Ginger

The records that I have indicate that they died on the same day, month and year, which was 5-18-1933. They had several children. The one that I am interested in is James Sameul Andrews DOB 5-16-1892, Died 1-22-1957. He married Dorothy Mae Durham DOB 12-2-1901, Died 5-01-1959. They had a son, Eugene Andrews, DOB 5-1927 who is the grandfather to my children. This family is from WI. Is there connection here?

Sharie, I'm responding on the mail list, rather than on the Query page where I originally posted, in order to answer your question. If this is the same family, as I am speculating that it is, Harriet Andrews Cotterell was the sister of Calvin and William Andrus/Andrews. They and their parents Lucy and Hiram (Henry?) lived in Bradford County, PA 1835-1840. One GAR biography of Calvin in MN Historical Society says they lived in NY and VT during Calvin's youth (before 1860?). Just prior to the Civil War, it appears they were in Adams County, WI but I'm still unable to pin them down. That's what you get when you're looking for a migratory family I guess. Patrick
