Thank you! None of those are likely to be my relatives but they belong to someone! What a thoughtful way of contributing to the ANDREWS list! Sharie, I have been unable to find any absolute answers regarding my Hiram Andrews/Andrus. The total sum of information I have is from his son's records, ie. Civil War, Death Certificate, etc. Hiram was married to Lucy Pratt circa 1828, was born in PA, lived in Bradford County, PA. Sorry to say I have no other answers about him. He MIGHT HAVE also lived in NY, VT, or MN. He MIGHT HAVE been connected to the Andrews/Andrus family from Granville, PA. He MIGHT HAVE had more than one wife. I do have more records ordered re: Calvin D. Andrus military history. These are from the Oregon State Archives and are in addtion to the National Archives records. Perhaps there will be something further that I can offer from that. If anyone could identify my Hiram from this scant bit of information, It would be greatly appreciated. It would also be a miracle!! Thanks Pat, My guys are-John, Jacob L.S., Joel. Their sister was Electa/Electra. Their mother was Sarah b. PA. she married in 1826 to a William Hill. Their father ..... Andrews died after 1822, and could have been named Joel as my Grandfather was the 3rd son and Joel would fit the naming pattern back then. Joel was born in St. Clair, MI the other children where born in NY. Thanks, for your time. I wonder if your Hiram is Hiram Ransom Andrews, the son of Samuel Andrews. Hiram was probably b. in Ashtabula Co., OH, but his father was b. in CT and lived in Chenango Co., NY from abt 1800 to about 1821. I also have another Hiram Andrews b. 7 Apr 1806 to John Andrews and Caroline Bronson, but that is about the extent of my information. I don't have this in my database, but I believe this John was in Ashtabula Co., OH and he came from Saratoga Co., NY. Don't take this as gospel. I am trying to do this off the top of my head. I would have to try to find that info if needed. I would like to know if your Hiram is one and the same of either the above. Hi Dolores, I have researched some Andrews/Andrus names in Genessee County, MI. I'm not near my files right now, but there was a Hiram Andrews who lived there during the 1850's. He was the right age for my g X 3 GF but I was unable to find much about him. He was from NY as I recall. His wife's name was Anna. I have a little more if interested.
