They were John W and Rachel Andrews of Macon County MO area. John was born October 1850 in Iowa, unknown exactly where. John's mother is listed as born in KY and his father is listed as born in Alabama, but do not know if that is correct or not..... Rachel was born Deciember 1854 in Iowa, unknown exactly where. I do not know Rachel's maiden name, or any history of either of their families. Both her parents were born in IN according to 1900 census. They had 5 children according to the 1900 Fed. census. The children were; Mike Andrews born June 1877 (died in IL) Nellie Andrews born October 1883 (my grandmother, also died in IL, June 1969) Census says her name was Nellie, but she went by Nella, not sure which is correct) Florence Andrews born October 1885 (Roberts may have been her married name) Carlos Andrews born February 1887 (no information at all) John born February 2 1889 (no information at all) Also shows a Frank (brother of John) born April 1866....Frank apparently lived with the family at time of census. I would love to know anything about them, such as dates of their deaths, places of death and where they are buried.....I know very little about any of them except my grandmother. The only other info I could find was listings in a "mears" book....John listed book 2, page 143......Rachel listed book 4, page 26........I do not know where to even find these books.. I would appreciate any help you may furnish...thanks so much, Linda [email protected]

Our oldest Thomas Andrews b 1815 Ireleand, His first son James Andrews b 1838 NY, they came to Livingston co. MI in mid 1840s according to Livingston co records. All I know is that they came from Ireland, Not Northern Ireland. The Catholics were from the South and the Protesants the North, that is where the other part of my family came from. I don't know how I will ever find out where they came from. I did get information about the McDevitt family, they came from Cork, Ireland. That probably would be a good start. Thanks Kathy Lombardi
Looking for info on Roxanna Andrews who was the daughter of Philo and Roxanna Meecham Andrews.

I am also researching Andrews from Coleraine or Donegal Ireland. I have a Jane that was born in 1809 and a brother George no dob. Jane married Alexander Anderson and moved to NYC and lived there until about 1870. Then they moved to Putnam County, OH, which is in the the northwest part of the state near MI. They had 3 children Martha, Mary Jane and Alexander who were born in NYC. Alexander had a son Tom who was born in Ohio. Do you know when they came to the states and where in NYC they lived? This could help in seeing if these two families are related. Kim

I did find Eliza Jane Mitchell and family on the 1850 census for Henry county, Ohio. She and their children are listed under Augustus Mitchell. I don't have a lot of time right now but when I can I will be trying to figure out the maze around Amos Andrews. I think at this point the Eliza Jane you are talking about is from another Amos Andrews the one I am working on is the Father of Amasa B Andrews. Don Andrews
