I am absolutely 100% sure this is our Andrews lineage. It matches perfectly with the research I have been doing on my Wiley P. Mangum's father John Mangum Jr., born 1763, in Mecklenburg, VA. Nancy Andrews and John Floyd III. were married, 04 Jul 1783 in Lunenburg County, VA. Their first child was born 1784, in Newberry, South Carolina. I believe Nancy Andrews was the daughter of William Andrew Jr. and Ann Brooks. John Floyd was one of the appraisers who appraised John Mangum SR's., estate in Newberry, South Carolina, in 1794. I am saying John Mangum, Sr., reason being, his parents may have been William Mangum and Mary Person and not John Mangum and Olive Savage. John Mangum's SR's, eldest son was named William Mangum, they usually named the oldest son for the father. From what direction are you seeking Andrews information...grandfather, ggrandfather, gggrandfather, mother, aunts, uncles, etc.? also the Andrews info you ... was there any migration ie from Alabama to Georgia, Mississippi, another state? timeframes you are looking for. Phillip Andrews was my greatgrandfather. His wife, MF Brantley died earlier in childbirth. They had 7 children excluding four who died in infancy, as well as a half brother whose mother we beleive to be a LouElla Ingram. Send me your questions/queries and we can work from there. We also understand that some of the family may have migrated to either Texas or Tenn or both but have no hard information documenting that. Oh and about deadends, it is not uncommon for trees to run together. For every woman that died in childbirth, there seems to be another to take her place. Take heart,

What a small world! It was through my job there that I found about Phillip's demise. I am currently at work downtown Atlanta presently, and dont have all the info at hand, but Ada had several siblings although I cant recall without the paperwork all the names. I did not get to know many of them with the exception of Rosa. Most had died by the time I was old enough to appreciate them as people. I will pull the paper to night and get back to you a list of names. The brother you speak of is my grandfather, Lucian Hybart Andrews. I grew up in Daphne, and Lucian and his wife Birdie; most of their children (my parents, aunts and uncles and a grandchild), Semm and several Glovers. are all interred in Belforest Cemetery out from Daphne. I was down a couple of months ago to attend a tragic family funeral...that of the 25 year old daughter of my first c! ousin, Lucia whose father Lucian H. Jr. was a brother to my dad. (She had had severe diabetes and apparently caught a fatal virus. More on that story later) Sisters Rosa and Hattie (they are some both somewhat famous, more on that later too) lived in Fairhope as did Semm and Claud whom I beleive may be the twin you speak of. Greatgrandmother Marian Frances Brantley died in childbirth, and my sister and I have reason to beleive she may have had two sets of twins that died as well. There are unmarked graves near her and husband Phillip's site. Ann, please do us and the family a favor ...start checking area newspapers for info. There are a number of us seeking info and there may be ads in these papers. My sister and I spent Memorial Day weekend in PineApple(which is the general vicinity of where we originated) scouring cemeteries and papers and talking to folks. I was told an andrews reunion was in the making somewhere around the Rabun, AL area and am looking for info on! it. Keep your eyes open lady. We are about to embark on the adventu re of our lifetime! I may also know someone who can tell me for sure. I will check. The reason for the move to Baldwin was farming and the fact that my grandfather Lucian was encouraged to live elsewhere after nearly shooting a man he caught in his corn crib. He was an original bad boy who married the a very prim and very proper woman. I know he loved to farm, a trait my Dad inherited

His occupation is “clerk in store”. His parents birthplace is shown as Massachusetts. He is living in the household of his daughter Laura Adelaide “Addie” Harding. Andrews 1864-1865 with a genealogy of the Andrews Family”; Ammah Andrews was born in Litchfield, Herkimer Co., New York, a twin brother of Amasa and died in Hudson, St. Croix Co., Wis., January 5, 1888. He was married three times. His first wife was Laura Andrews, probably a cousin (who was born June 5, 1803 and died at Commerce, Washington County, Michigan, May 22, 1842). He married April 6, 1843 at Commerce, Washington County, Michigan, as his second wife Martha Fuller, who died in Hudson August 22, 1850, age 38 years, four months and 24 days. His third wife Catherine Scott (1820-1864), died in Hudson. Ammah Andrews was a carpenter, as was his father, and came to Hudson about 1847. He was the builder of many of the fine homes of Hudson in the early days. He served a year or so as a carpenter for the Army in Tennessee during the Civil War. With his son Emory, he moved to Lincoln, Nebraska in 1868. His sons Henry and Howard followed the next year. He returned to Hudson where he died. From ‘Hudson’s Distinguished Men and Women” by Willis H. Miller: Another early comer whose handiwork is still extremely visible in Hudson, was Ammah Andrews (1801-1888), builder and contractor, who settled here in 1847. A great number of the beautiful old homes, many of which were built before the Civil War, were planned and constructed by Ammah Andrews. He was chairman at the first meeting of the county commissioners for St. Croix County in 1848.

Ada Andrews Glover and her family traveled from Wilcox County to Washington County. I had no idea that the Andrews family was from Monroe County. That is not too far from where my father lives. I don't know enough about the my grandmother's family to ask question. My grandmother did not share many family stories with me except for those about the siblings. For instance, she never told me why they move to Washington County.

If I have the correct Phillip, his daughter Ada married William Allan Glover. One son, James L. Glower moved his family to Washington County, AL. My grandmother is the daughter of James. Ada is buried with her family in the Baptist Cemetary in Leroy, AL. Does this match information that any of you have?
