    3. I am looking for any information on Amon J Andrews in AR/LA/TX around 1900. My father was born in AR in 1905 and I can't find anything about his father. Supposedly father and son had the same name. Amon, Sr. was married to Nettie Jenny White(b:1882) but I can't find any proof............. I have located Amon, Jr in 1910, 1920 and 1930 census. Also Jenny in 1920 census..........but no Amon, Sr. Any help would be greatly appreciated......Noma Andrews Foltz

Andrews b about 1842 somewhere in Georgia, USA and served in Confederate army from Georgia, moved to Magnolia, Columbia County, Arkansas by time of 1880 census Married to Martha Heath died in Arkansas. Had children: James F. Andrews Reuben Henry "Bud" Andrews William W. Andrews Martha J. Andrews John Thomas Andrews Elizabeth F. Andrews possibly others born after 1880 census. Reuben Henry Andrews had a son Jessie Frank Andrews. I have more info on family of Reuben Henry Andrews. My great grandfather was Jessie James Andrews wife Verna MAe Brown father James A. Andrews and mother Margie Mullins. Jessie was born in Robertson County, Texas on 12/1/1885 died Bellmead, Texas Dec 1985. Less than a month after his 100th birthday. Jessie and Verna Mae had 17 children one set of twins. Jessie father James I have as being born in Texas and was told that his father (don't know the first name) came from Tennessee. Anyone with information I would love to swap information.

The only information that I have at this time is that he married Claryssa Hays 21 Jul 1823, in St. Francois Co., Mo. Together they had 1 daughter, Tabitha Ann Griffin, in 1824. Sometime between 1824 and 1826 Solomon Griffin died. Claryssa and Tabitha were granted his land in Austin's Colony in Texas, according to the General Land Office Records in Texas. Tabitha married my ggggrandfather, Abraham Baker Sr. (Claryssa had remarried after Solomon's death, she married John Andrews Jr., together they had several children, and raised Tabitha.)
