ANDREWS, his wife Ruth B. HILTON, and their son Oscar A. ANDREWS. Charles and Ruth were born and married in Maine. From there they moved to Pennsylvania. They were in Allegheny Co., NY in 1860. By 1880 they were in Corry, Erie Co., PA where they lived out their lives. Oscar married Annie in Erie Co. In 1880 Charles is listed as either "own maker" or "oar maker", while Oscar was working in a chair factory. By 1900 Charles had passed away and Ruth was living with Oscar. At that time Oscar was farming. Any help appreciated.

I'm looking for the parents of a Mercellus Andrews who was born around 1842 in Pennsylvania. His father was born in NY, his mother in PA. He and his wife (Ruena) had 6 children. I'm hoping somebody on the list may have a connection. Thanks! Teresa
I just found him in the 1850 Addison Twp., Somerset Co., PA census with father James b. abt 1820 in PA, mother Elizabeth born abt 1821 in PA, his name mispelled "Morselis"born abt 1843 in PA, brother Albert born 1846 PA, sister Mary F. born abt 1848 PA I hope this helps! Jenny Barton
http://genforum.genealogy.com/andrews/messages/4543.html Yet another link that says Marcellus' parents were a James and a Elizabeth. Yet another link: http://genforum.genealogy.com/andrews/messages/3336.html says Ruena's last name was Snyder, I don't take these messages as great sources, but instead as leads. Jenny
I don't know if this is the same Marcellus, but check out this link, it says the father was Hiram born in NYC: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/read/ANDREWS/2001-11/1005432427 Also another link I found on Marcellus Andrews, scroll down to Andrews' and you'll see many children Marcellus and Reuna had. http://www.rootsweb.com/~pasomers/ltfoot/Page1-10.txt Good luck!
