    1. Does the LIST have to die?

    3. Too bad. I don't know exactly how list ownership works. Subscribers seem to assume this forum will evaporate with the resignation of the list owner. Will someone who knows about these matters explain? Yesterday I received "The Prison Camp at ANDERSONVILLE," an interactive CD-ROM. Haven't had time to check it out yet. Anyone out there with experience with it? My great-grandfather James Madison BRYANT survived his stay as a prisoner at Andersonville -- October 1864-April 1865. If anyone has any information about his stay there, please contact me. I assume that other subscribers have helped people off-list, as I have on several occasions. From now on, all my postings will be to the whole list; so everyone will at least know that something is happening. I have NEVER interjected my political agenda into any genealogy list, or any other for that matter. I've always discouraged personal diatribes and anonymity. When I get in trouble, it's because I get too angry at people who DO pollute these lists with their personal ideological agendas. They are poisonous for any interest group which is not confined to people of one narrow view-point. If we can continue ANDERSONVILLE-L, let's do so. Paul C. Palmer, historian (Ret) ---------- From: Judy Wick <JWick@compuserve.com> To: ANDERSONVILLE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: It's A Shame Date: Tuesday, February 23, 1999 2:30 AM Gosh-----I didn't do any of those things and I always hate to see the bad guys win. I've been on other lists where things like this happen and people insult people and fight and bicker----then everything seems to cool off and things go back to normal. And sometimes we have to be patient with those who are new and don't know how to work their computers much less their emails, we were all dumb about those things once. Seems a shame to lose the list, but it's your decision.
