Hi Edward, You were really helpful before on Jerry, and now you've come through on John, Thank you so much. Where did you get this information? I had gone to a Ohio web site that lists all the units, and looked at the 6th, but they didn't have a roster. I had gone to the Andersonville site, and put his name in just in case he might of joined too, and it came up with his name, but no age of course, and with your information It is almost proof positive he is our John, as his age matches what we just found in the 1850 census for Orange Township, in Ohio. He was 17 then. It looks like the three older brothers in the family all joined, William being the only one to return. How tragic, but I don't imagine this was the only family that had this happen to. Again, thank you so much this is really wonderful. I just today received my record requests from the NARA, so will get these two filled out and sent in. Best to you, and I hope I can be of some help to you or someone else. I need to read more on the Civil War, and the prisons, and then perhaps I can pay back for all the nice help I've received. Myrna Singer Casey
