I assume my ancestor was among the sick prisoners chosen for parole in December -- he spent months in a Maryland hospital recovering from his experience at Andersonville before finally returning home in Ohio. I've briefly checked out the Florence Stockade website and it looks quite impressive. I've already found a diary written by a soldier who was in my ancestor's regiment. Interesting stuff!
