    3. Christina, Write to the National Archives and ask them to send the forms you need to request Military Records on your Civil War ancestor. Then when you send in the forms, ask for ALL the Military Records including Pension and Prisoner of War Records. The Prisoner of War Records will detail which prison he was in, including the dates, and mine even had the place my g-grandfather was captured. That would be the best way to validate he was at Andersonville. Recently, I had to send copies of the Military Record and Prisoner of War Record to Andersonville to get my ancestor listed as a prisoner there. Some people may have been missed on the records at Andersonville. The National Archives Records are your absolute proof. Judy Clark-Wick JWick@compuserve.com
