Hi Anderson List, There is a court record (1816) in Campbell Co., TN on James Anderson, John Anderson and George Davis. James Anderson was to appear in court for jury duty and didn't show up. This cost John Anderson (b. 1758 Bedford Co., TN) and George Davis (b. 1780 VA/NC?) $50 each. Can someone tell me the relationship of James Anderson (b. abt 1788) to John Anderson? Was James the son of John Anderson (b. 1758)? George Davis is probably somehow related, but I haven't been able to determine that relationship. $50 in 1816 would have been a nice chunk of money. I doubt John Anderson and George Davis would spend that kind of money on someone that wasn't related to them. I think James Anderson left Campbell Co., TN and went to Laurel Co., KY. Sandra: You need to find 4 to 6 males descendants of your GGGGGF and with his last name, one set of two/thee from the first wife, one set of two/three from the second wife, and test them with the Y DNA test. You will want to use a 25 marker test, since 30% of the matching 12 marker tests fail to remain matches at 25 markers. Thanks Sherry. The other Amos, son of Elin as about the same age. Plus or minus 2 or 3 years. There are two that had service records from the CW, the one that Joe thought was his said that he was b in Lee co, Va. so that one may be son of Noah, and the other one may be his. I guess we will have to learn more. This one died at Gallatin Tn during the war of some illness. Information is known about the pension records and his widow.
