In 1830 Sally went to Columbia in Maury County to visit a sister who is married and lived there at that time. While there she was urged by her brother-in-law to marry WILLIAM L. ANDERSON. She was not willing to marry him; among other reasons he was too old for her, being old enough to be her father. Her brother-in-law however, threatened to beat her if she didn't marry Anderson. So she consented. When the time of the marriage came near, she again said she didn't want to marry Anderson. Her brother-in-law beat her. She was forced to marry him, but she told him she would not cohabit with him. Capt. Bloody Bill's parents moved to Randolph County about 1840 when Bill was born. They moved to Agnes City, KS in 1857. After their father died the family moved back to Platte Co. Missouri about 1862/63. Bloody Bill's two sisters Mary and Josephine were arrested and held in a hotel in Kansas City. On Aug. 14, 1863 the building fell in killing the then 14 year old Josephine and Mary was hurt badly. Bloody Bill then became hell on leather as the saying goes. Here are two sites where you can find this kind of data on Bloody Bill along with a photo of him and his and his men's erected monument. Both of these men later lived in Brown County,Texas. William M. Anderson's brother, Samuel b.1794-1865 married Mary McKinzie b.1802-1863 Douglas Co.Mo. and lived in Stone Co.,Mo.also. They had seven daughters and no sons. Martha Ellen their daughter ,was my gr gr grandmother. Her husband James Massey was from Limerick,Ireland. Martha was his # 2 wife. This William T. age 21 is the Bloody Bill of MO. fame who rode with Jesse James. Jesse is listed in Capt. William T.'s regiment. Josephine was killed and Martha and Mary hurt when they were arrested.
