Bill, What are your Anderson famiy names? While my Anderson research has not taken me to the counties you've mentioned, I am not certain that my ancestor was not there and maybe we could help each other. I am researching a Robert Anderson - earliest record I have found is in Rowan County 1799. He owned land in Salisbury and on Dutch Buffalo Creek. According to the census records, he was born in North Carolina around 1774. Family stories say that he had three brothers: David (b. abt 1772), Richard (b. abt 1776) and James (b. abt 1780).
