Joseph ANDERSON was born 14 May 1699 in Hingham, Plymouth, Massachusetts. He married Charity NICHOLS 29 October 1724, in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. Their son Archelaus ANDERSON was born 22 September 1734 in Cohasset, Norfolk County, Massachusetts. He married Miriam BIGILOW who was born 28 March 1731 in Shrewsbury, Worcester, Massachusetts. I am looking for Joseph's parents. There was an Archebald Anderson in Lynn, Massachusetts, about 50 years earlier, almost directly north of Hingham across Boston Bay. Perhaps Joseph was a son or grandson of Archibald and named Archelaus after him. Please check your sources if you are researching early New England Andersons. I think Archebald was from Scotland???
