Hi, I'm overwhelmed by the amount of Anderson research going on. Is anyone researching Scottish Andersons in New York? My biggest problem right now is that I don't have the name of my immigrant Anderson ancestor. I do know that he came from Scotland and ended up in Utica, NY. The info I do have is sketchy: My grandmother remembers her grandfather as "Pop" Anderson, and that he may be buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Rochester, NY. He married a woman from New York. They had three children that I know of so far: Mary Gertrude ANDERSON, b: abt. 1891 d: 13 March 1935 Lillian ANDERSON, b: ? d: after 1961 Charles ANDERSON ?????????? As far as I can tell, the children were all born in Utica, NY. Mary Gertrude (my gr-grandmother) married: (1st) William PENDERY (of Ohio?) abt. 1907, and had Grace Lillian PENDERY (my grandmother, b: 1908); Beatrice PENDERY (b: abt. 1910) (2nd) ? PRAECHTEL 1917 (3rd) A. Lee WHITWORTH July 1925 According to letters from ther 3rd husband, she died in Washington, DC. Lillian married Patrick MCSWEENEY who died abt. 1926. I have no information on Charles ANDERSON. Do any of these names ring a bell with anyone? I'm waiting for my great-grandmother's death certificate to arrive from DC which will hopefully give me her parents' names. Has anyone ever requested death certificates from DC? If so, how long did it take? It's been about a month so far. Thanks.
