Hi Stephen I also have papers that are similiar to yours, mine are from PA dated Apr 7th 1906. I also wondered if there were additional papers. It says at the end it of the document: The court admitted the said Andrzej Raczewski to become a Citizen of the U. S and ordered all the proceedings aforesaid to be recorded by the Prothonotary of the said Court; which was done accordingly. The words... proceedings aforsaid... seems to me like there should be prior papers to this...but on the 1910 and 1920 census Andrzej states he is not a citizen but then again maybe he didn't understand the question as he and his wife only spoke polish... Glad you brought this up I should check with the courts. Your posting made me look at this document more closely. On what appears to be a separate form, the bottom of which states "Declaration of Intention" and is dated March 4th, 1884, the court states that having applied for citizenship, and producing such evidence and making such declarations and renunciations as are required by the Acts, Swan Anderson is admitted by the court to be a citizen of the United States of America. > > My question to anyone on this list is: > > Are there any additional citizenship documents, application forms or other paperwork that I should be looking for that may provide more information about my great-grandfather, such as his parents names, births, immigration dates, etc., or is this it? > > Thanks, and Merry Christmas > > Stephen Carlile > > ==== ANDERSON Mailing List ==== > Try this link to Colonial Virginia Anderson Families with family trees from 1600 to 1800. -- Picard Pines mailto:m-e-picard@plix.com http://www.plix.com/~users/m-e-picard http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/p/i/c/Ellen-J-Picard (updated 10/99) ==== ANDERSON Mailing List ==== Confused and frustrated about how the list works: please e-mail the list manager Patrick Anderson with any questions or suggestions or complaints.
