It seems like many of us have an elusive James in our Anderson file (unfortunately, none of them seem to be my gr-gr-grandfather!) . Here's mine: JAMES B. ANDERSON was born on 20 Nov 1804 in Ireland, came to NY about 1808, went on to IL in 1820 and died on 15 Jan 1859 in Darwin, Clark, IL. He married NANCY G. McCLURE (07 Jun 1813 KY - 15 Feb 1887 in Darwin, Clark, IL) 08 Aug 1828 in Darwin, Clark, IL. Their children were: Eliza J. ANDERSON (b 01 Sep 1829, d 01 Sep 1835 Darwin, Clark, IL) Mary L. ANDERSON (b 27 Feb 1832, d 22 Apr 1838 Darwin, Clark, IL) Amanda G. ANDERSON (b 24 Nov 1833, d 24 Sep 1834) Catherine ANDERSON (b 06 Aug 1835 , , IL; d 06 Dec 1852 Darwin, Clark, IL) James W. ANDERSON (b Abt. 1837 , , IL) Byron ANDERSON (b Abt. 1839 , , IL) Thomas G. ANDERSON (b 18 Jun 1841 , , IL; d 05 Sep 1858 Darwin, Clark, IL) Leroy ANDERSON (b Abt. 1843 , , IL) Daniel ANDERSON (b Abt. 1847 , , IL) Mary Jane ANDERSON (b 26 Nov 1850 Darwin, Clark, IL; marr Edward Summerfield WAMSLEY 12 Sep 1870 , Clark, IL; d 14 May 1928 Center Twp, Indianapolis, Marion, IN) - my gr-grandparents James came to the US when 4 yrs old, presumably with his parents (although I guess we've all learned you can't assume anything in genealogy) : ).
