Margaret, Boy did I have to learn that the hard way, I found my William Anderson the first time on the census in W.V.in 1910 , it gives his birth place as Madison Co., Virginia , and the children's birthplace as Green Co. , Virginia , but I think this is incorrect , because I found some of their Obits and it gave their birthplace as Amherst Co. Virginia. Several of those obits I have found and each child's birthplace was given as Amherst Co., so something is wrong somewhere. So this tells me that you can't always depend on the census to give the correct birthplace. What do you feel about this ? I know you have been searching longer than I have .
