Hi...I have found researching my Swedish/Norweign Ancestors the hardest. Most of what I know was inherited from family would had done some research about 30 years ago. The Swedish naming conventions can be rather disheartening to track and they were futher conveluted when immigrants registered. I think that the family has a good handle on the children of my immigrant Andersons. While there are some Carls, I don't have one that married an Andersdottir. Carl, Andrew, and Peter are common names in my two lines...but I am learning there were common names for Scandinavins. Have you checked at the county genweb site for the Chariton, IA area? Good luck with your research.
