I am researching my Norwegian heritage and have found the Anderson name...well, kinda. My gggrandfather was Andreas Olson. His sons took Andreason, but took the farm name of Stubberud when the came over. I am not sure if they all did but a couple did. For many years the family thought the name was Anderson, not so. Some relatives had wasted time looking for Anderson, to no avail. My suggestion: Take the first name of the father literally..Andreas and not Anders. Thank God I had the only written record still around of my GGrandfather with his middle name as Andreason.
