AR in 1839 and moved to Jonesboro in 1886. Twice elected to the Legislature from Green Co and once from Jonesboro. Member of Constitutional Convention in 1874 & 1884. Elected to State Senate from 1st Senatorial District. In Big Creek TWP, Herndon, John Seaton Anderson had a store and Post Office. The TWP was divided and town of Bonneville est. Herndon declined and ceases to exist. John Seaton Anderson's store in Old Herndon was the first meeting place of the Greensboro Lodge later the Masonic Lodge. John Seaton Anderson was a judge in Craighead County in 1864 - 1866. He was an Arkansas Representative in 1875 and a State Senator in 1885 - 1887. He was a member of the Arkansas Constitutional Convention. "Living neighbors to the Caldwells and Cooks were: J.S. (John Seaton) Anderson and wife, who settled there in 1839. Their son, C.M. (Christopher Mellon) was born there in the year 1858 and served as county clerk in 1890. He married Miss Alantha Raines, November 9, 1881. WILCOKSON 1867. He married (2) MARGUERITE BELLE JACKSON RUSSELL 1890. Notes for JOHN HENRY ANDERSON: John Henry, Born in Green Co Ark on Crowley's Ridge Feb. 10, 1845. Died at the home of son, S.E. Anderson (Seaton Edward) in Conway Arkansas on Dec. 16, 1898 (Alva Ola was 6 years old). Licensed to preach (Methodist Church) on Nov. 3, 1877, Ordained deacon on Dec. 16, 1883 at Newport Arkansas by Bishop John C. Granberry. Ordained Elder on Dec. 4, 1887 by Bishop Charles B. Galloway. Entered the White River Aual Conference and was a circuit preacher. Granted Supernumerary relation in Dec. 1892. Moved to Conway Arkansas in June 1893 and went into the mercantile business. Notes for SEATON EDWIN ANDERSON: Established a Book Store on Front Street in 1893 in Conway Ark. (Faulkner County Facts and Fiddlings, Vol.X1, Spring 1961, Page 23) He is a valued member of the Knights of Pythias, secretary of the School Board and a progressive and public-spirited business man.
