Hello from southern Virginia, First, I'm trying to trace my ANDERSON ancestry in southern Virginia. My father, who passed away last year, was Richard Blair ANDERSON, Sr. [5 July 1925-18 July 1998]. His father was John Buchanan ANDERSON [b. 1890s, d. 1941], and John's father was Chesley Samuel ANDERSON [1868-1921, I believe]. Chesley was born in Halifax County, Virginia, and died in Florida. Chesley Samuel was the son of Caleb ANDERSON [b. abt. 1801, d. abt. 1870, both possibly in Halifax County, Virginia] and Nancy FIRESHEETS. That's as far back as I can take my ANDERSONs, although I know Nancy had a brother, David, who married Sarah ANDERSON, known to be the daughter of a Jacob ANDERSON of Pittsylvania County, Virginia, and *possibly* a sister to Caleb, although proof is almost impossible to obtain. If anyone else is researching the same family, PLEASE get in touch with me. This is getting to be a 10-year brick wall for me, even though I can apparently go much further back with other family lines.
