She died in Austin, TX 12 Mar 2004. Born 19 Dec 1914 in Alvarado, TX daughter of Drucilla Alice Chastain Johnson and Herschel Pope Johnson. She graduated from Alvarado High School. graduated with a BS in speech from the University of North Texas. She did graduate work at Louisiana State University and at Texas Christian University where she earned her MA in English. She took postgraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin. She retired from teaching 31 May 1979 after 30 years of service. She was a member of DAR and served as Regent of her chapter. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Assistance League of Austin, Association of Childhood Education and was at one time president of the Brazos County Teachers Association. She was a member of the Disciples of Christ church. Predeceased by her husband Robert Lee Anderson, who was also born in Alvarado, TX whom she married 17 June 1939. Also predeceased by her parents, brothers, Herschel Chastain, George Raplh and Edwin Fred Johnson; nephew, George Ralph Johnson Jr. and sisters in law Nelva Satterhite Johnson and Johnnie Sewell Johnson. Survived by son Robert Edwin Anderson of Austin; brother, Francis Ward Johnson of Alvarado; sisters in law, Julia Bone Johnson and Helen Pollard Johnson, both of Ft.Worth, TX.
