In that paper she references the Handy Book, Hancock Co., TN: 1844, Claiborne, Hawkins, Main Street., Sneedville, TN 37869-9501. There she talks about the early tax records of Hawkins Co. TN (1810) of Capt. Looney's Co. (Creekmore 1980, 170-172) and appearing there on are the names of Swinfield Anderson and James Anderson, et al. And she copies a partial list from this publication. Next to Swinfield Anderson's name is a footnote 22 and at the bottom of the page she writes: "WILLIS, Larkin dated 14 Oct 1846 census proven 1859. Wife Elizabeth Willis (n.b. see Sizemore). William Berry. Legatees James Willis, Samuel Willis, Patsy Kyle, Solomon Willis. Friends John Mitchell and Swimpfield Anderson, exe cutors. Wits: James Payne, George Payne, James M. Moneyhan (Gardner 1991, 83). NARS M-432, Roll 882, 1850 U.S. Census, Hawkins Co. TN, p316, District No. 3, 29 nov #8/8: Swympfield Anderson, 69, m, farmer, $2000, TN; Sarah, 48, b. VA, and children.
