    3. Hi. I agree that Armistead MILLER next to your Myra ANDERSON is probably her father. I wasn't sure which white Armstead MILLER you were tracking. The one I found is as follows: 1850 - Fentress, TN (? M 1817 TN) - Amistead (33) Bernetta (29) Alvan (4) Martana (6) Urman (3) Hugh (4/12) 1860 - Fentress, TN (? M 1816 TN) - Amstid (44) Mary (43) Martinia (16) Alvin (14) Eaman (12) Hugh (10) 1870 - Glasgow, Barren, KY (W M 1816 TN) - Armstead (54) Mary (53) Alvin C (25) Hugh A (20) 1880 - Sartain, Barren, KY (W M 1816 TN) - Armstead (64) Mary (63) If this was the one you were interested in, then he was still in Kentucky when your Armistead was in Alabama. I tried finding your Armistead MILLER in other censuses but couldn't. Good luck. I am African American and have been looking for an African American AMISTEAD MILlER; however, I am on the trail of a White AMISTED MILLER born in Tennessee around 1817 just as my AMISTEAD's birth year (per the 1880 Census). I'm interested in this line because oral history in my family has it that my grgr g/m MYRA (MILLER) ANDERSON white. I have a picture of what is supposed to be MYRA but I haven't confirmed this yet. On the back of the picture is written 8 Aug 1810 and C Springs L6096 Richards, Spring. C. I have yet to find out what the inscription means especially since MYRA is shown on the 1880 Census with my grgr g/f born circa 1858 and as Black. I could be wrong in pursuing ARMISTED MILLER in that I believe him to be the father of my gr g/m MYRA MILLER because he is in the house right before the one MYRA is in and she says her father is from NC and he says that he is from NC. I have the White AMISTED MILLER on the 1850, 1860, 1870 Census and am trying to locate him in 1880. Another thought that I have is that my 1880 AMISTEAD MILLER may have actually had a different name and changed it between 1839 - 1840 in reverence for the ARMISTAD Trials. Any assistance, guidance would be very much appreciated.
