Lynn, If this James died in Highland Co, OH, you can order the will books on microfilm for the year he died, through an LDS (Mormon) Family History Center in your area, and make a copy of what you find on this man's probate. I've been reading these filmed copies of old oiginal records for about 12 years now. These centers are open to the public (I am not a church member) and wonderful sources for research of the "real" records.
