Am looking for infomation on John Anderson b. 1752 where unk., died 1814 in Chillicothe Ohio. Was married to Deborah at the time of his death, might have been married before. He had the following children: Polly, Abigail, Levi, John, Jonathan, Rebecca, Gershom, Mahlon. They came to the Chillicothe area from Charles Town, Wva. in the early 1800's. According to William Brothers History of Ohio, Ross and Highland Counties, John accompanied by his son Levi, came to Ross Co. in 1808 from Virginia. It is quite possible that John had come to Chillicothe before this date, as there are court records concerning a debt by John Anderson in 1799 where Gershom and Jonathan came as witnesses. At the time of his death he owned property (at least 100 acres) and gave Levi his home and lot on Water St., at his mothers decease. Levi was also given his shop, where he (John) was a wheelwright, chair maker and made spinning wheels and may have owned a tannery and leatherworks.
