The annual Nelson Reunion for the descendants of Jave and Ellen Evans Nelson will be July 24, 2004, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Farmers Grove Baptist Church fellowship hall. Covered dish lunch will be at noon. There will be fun and games for the kids, displays of family pictures and memorabilia to view, and singing in the evening. The books which will be available at the Johnson Reunion will also be available at the Nelson Reunion, as this is a joint effort of the two groups. Jave Nelson was said to be a great-grandson of Joseph Anderson for whom Anderson County is named. Ellen Evans Nelson was the daughter of Thomas J. Evans and Permelia York Evans.Thomas was a Civil War Soldier and is buried at Sunset Cemetery. Following the Civil War, they came from Knox County, Kentucky to Union County, then Claiborne County, where Permelia died. Thomas died in Anderson County.Jave and Ellen Nelson's were: David, Henry, Catharine, Frank, Tom, Cynthia, Page, Taylor, Sam and Clara. EVERYONE IS INVITED.
