His wife's name is Mary. They had children: James b. 1861, Frank Marion b. 1865, Roseann b. 1868, Mary E. b. 1871, and Nancy A. b. 1872. All born in Kentucky. I know Frank married Nancy Young. Any help would be much appreciated!

I chekced for an 1870 census of this family and couldn't locate them. Do you know when IM Andersonwas born? Also best bet would be to track down a death certificate of one of his children maybe father's full name is listed on there. Hope these hints are helpful.
