I can't imagine that all the Andersons are from the South! Archaelaus Anderson was in Chester, Mass. active in the pre-Revolutionary War fighting. He moved there in 1761, had child or children and wife died. He remarried Sara, had more children and died in 1782 of smallpox at West Point. I am hoping my gggrandfather was a son, Samuel, who bought land from the Holland Land Company in Erie County, New York about 1808. Samuel was married to Jane Maurice/Morris and had children. Anybody out there with these names in their ancestry? Alice
