    3. Sorry to hear that. There are always those who are too stupid and petty to know or care how low they have sunk. When my first son was born I chose some red roses from the florist - after I came oot the pub ("wetting the wean's heid" we call it here). I wondered why all the nurses were staring at me in the ward. My wife telt me next day that I had brought in a bunch o' plastic floo'ers tae the hospital. Donald Anderson Glasgow Scotland >I PLANTED FLOWERS ON MULBERRY CEMETARY WHERE MY MOM AND DAD IS BURIED AND > CAN YOU BELIEVE SOMEONE STOLE THEM THEY DUG THEM UP ,MY MOM AND DAD ALWAYS > LIKED PRETTY FLOWERS SO RATHER THAN PLASTIC FLOWERS I WANTED A FLOWER BED WITH > PRETTY LIVE FLOWERS SOME PEOPLE DON'T HAVE ANY SHAME ANY MORE , HOPE THIS DONT > HAPPEN TO ANY ONE ELSE

My bloke brought me a big bunch of fresh irises, when we had our first (a son -1968) in Dunfermline Maternity Hosp. My mother-in-law was horrified he taken me irises ... the signifigance of those particular flowers is .. 'a sign of rejection'. Thought she was going to disown him, when she found out. Me? I didn't know what the meaning was, but was chuffed to bits he even thought of flowers at all. 6 thousand miles from home, so no family about not even his (they were in Sx), I was just happy to see him. The following week my Scottish mother flew over and the in-laws came to visit. [P.S. .. the lads from the boat had been using the excuse of 'wettin' the head' for several months, which upset me greatly > I'm very superstitious. Kept telling them to wait until the bairn was born and not before!!] Toni ~ Ontario
