Greetings, On August 21, 1858 David S. Anderson married Elizabeth Stephens Soady in Macoupin County, Illinois. Since that time they seem to have fallen off the face of the earth! Background: Elizabeth was born in 1837 in Duloe, Cornwall, England. Elizabeth Soady's family immigrated from Cornwall England c 1851 to the Peoria/Pekin area of Illinois and the family remained there for many generations -in fact some are still there. I've attempted to locate David & Elizabeth Anderson in the 1860 census but have been unsuccessful. 1864 - In Elizabeth's brother's 1864 Civil War Diary he states: 4/11 that he visited "Lizzie" at Princeville, IL 10/16 - at Mound City, IL he went to find "Sis" but no luck. Elizabeth is his only sister. Does anyone have any information on this family? Or suggestions on where to look? Thank you, Deborah, CA

He was born in Iowa on Dec 24, 1900, and died in San Antonio, Texas about 1964. He was stationed, shortly, at Fort Sam Houston in 1920 (but lied about his age when he joined the Army just before the end of WW2). He was previously married (before his marriage to Lola Mildred), but do not know the name of his first wife or where he lived prior to 1920. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
I have an old photo that came from my Swedish grandfather's unmarried sister. It is a picture of a young man with a clerical collar and it was taken by Brandt Bros. 119 W. Second St. Davenport, Iowa. Written on the back is "Pastor Anderson." Does anyone have any connection with this man? Thank you, Karen Ft. Myers, Florida

I beleive my Philip died in Iowa between 1874 and 1895 as a young man. Thanks Sharon corcoran@jtt.net
Give approximate dates of each ones birth and maybe we can find them on the census. ----- Original Message ----- From: <jslegs@midlands.net> To: <ANDERSON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, March 20, 2005 10:01 PM Subject: [ANDERSON-L] Anderson Colorado Sioux City > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Anderson > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Wl.2ADIB/9465 > > Message Board Post: > > I am looking for the birth record of my grandfather born in Colorado in > early 1900's. His name was Jay E. Anderson. He married Eldora Walker in 1896. She was widowed and left with Lottie, my gr. grandmother, by the 1900 census. I found a 1880 census with Jay listed as 4 yrs old living with Philip-24 and Zoe L.-27, with his siblings Ira C.-6, Sylvina M.-1, in Benton Co. Iowa. By 1895, Zoe was the head of household living in Marshall Co. Iowa. Jay, Ira, and Sylva(Sylvina), still living with her, along with new siblings, Guy-13 and Mary E.-11. Philips listed his parents as being born in Ohio, but he was born in Iowa. If by chance anyone comes across death dates or burials of any of the listed above I would really appreciate it. OR, any other info for that matter. Thanks a bunch and good luck on your quest. Sharon
