    2. I am looking for the family of Eben Anderson b. 1843 in Kent County, DE, I think in the Smyrna area. He married Edith Hodson b. 1847 in DE. They had children (1) Clara Drucilla b. 1868 Smyrna, DE married Cyrus James Buckley b. 1853 in PA.(my line), (2) Gilbert W. b. 1872 and (3) Louisa R. b. 1875. Eben's mother's name was Susan b. 1805 in DE. In the 1850 census Duck Creek Hd, Kent County, DE, she was alone with children (1) Hannah b. 1829 m. John Armstrong from New York, (2) Benjamin F. b. 1839, (3) Eben. Also living with them was John McBlain b. 1826 from Ireland. I am wondering if Eben's parents were John W. Anderson b. 2. Nancy Merritt
    3. My brick wall is W. M. Anderson who was married to Frances (unknown surname) Children would be Ada and William, also called Willie. I find the family in the 1900 Henderson County, Tennessee census listing Frances, b. 1850 TN, as head of household with children Ada b. Jan 1883 TN and William b. Oct 1889 TN. Ada Anderson married Francis Marion Fesmire 12 Jan 1910 and had two children Homer Dalton Fesmire and Alice Lucille Fesmire. I have a letter dated June 1 1927 (from Juno, Tennessee) from Ada to my great grandfather William Henry Simmons, b. 1870, Bells, TN, calling him her cousin. I just can't find where she or the Andersons connect to my Simmons line. Was Frances Anderson my great grandfather William Henry Simmons' paternal or maternal aunt? She was not a sibling, as I find no siblings for William Henry Simmons. I have several pictures of the Anderson family and Ada's children if anyone has links to this line, I will be happy to share. Would like to know who W M. Anderson's parents and siblings were and what Frances Anderson's maiden name was. Warm regards from Texas; Nancy Merritt

    1. RE: [ANDERSON-L] ROLL CALL! -- Caleb & Nancy (Firesheets) Anderson Halifax Co, VA after 1800
    2. Richard B. Anderson, Jr.
    3. Hello from Danville, Virginia, My most important brick wall involves my 3rd great grandparents, Caleb and Nancy (Firesheets) ANDERSON of Halifax County, Virginia. Caleb was born about 1801, Nancy in 1807 -- both apparently in Halifax County, Virginia -- and they married 23 November 1826 in Halifax County. Caleb MIGHT be a son of Jacob and Patsy ANDERSON of Pittsylvania County [whose daughter married Nancy FIRESHEETS' brother, David], but I haven't found adequate proof. Can anyone help? I look forward to hearing from anyone who might be able to help me break through this brick wall. Best wishes, Richard B. 1. JOHN WILSON ANDERSON
    2. William Rose
    3. John Wilson Anderson was born 6 December 1843 Indiana, probably Vigo County or near Terre Haute. I have all of his descendants, but am currently unsure of his parents. His parents may have come from North Carolina and back a few more generations may have been in Delaware. The name Silverster Anderson who married Cloie Pope now seem to be the most likely candidates for John's parents. Does this relate to your research? Thanks for thinking this through. --William Rose

    1. Roll Call
    2. Renne M Blocker
    3. I just posted this several days ago but you never know maybe ROLL CALL will spark interest. Sorry for repeating myself so soon. I am trying to help my sister-in-law, Sylvia Anderson, find any relatives she may have somewhere in the world as she is all alone and searching for her roots. The only thing she knows is that her father was born Vaino Armas ANDERSSON in what she thought is called Pori, Finland. Vaino was born May 5, 1911and his father was Isaac and that is all she knows except he came to America in 1941 on a boat. Vaino ANDERSSON met and married, Ida Maria PANANEN in NY City--she was known as "Mary." They moved to an Island in the Thousand Islands, N.Y. Their closest post office and mailing address was Clayton, NY. Vaino dropped one S from his name and legally became Vaino Anderson. They had a son who died as a boy as he drowned in the Island's water, and they had Sylvia 5 Jul 1945. Vaino Anderson died Feb. 1970. . She did say that she believes her father may have had a brother named Lauri and she believes he may have stayed in Finland and he may have had children. Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated. Renne Blocker

    1. Roll call on various related Andersons
    2. Here's my troublesome Anderson line.... John Anderson, a cooper, lived in CharlesTown, WVA, in the early 1800's. May be the one who married Sarah Duke in Berkeley County, WVA, in 1799. Owned various lots in town during 1800-1811. May have had a tavern or inn, may have had something to do with the Jockey Club. His son, David, also a cooper, married Mary Kackley in Hampshire County, WVA in 1820. Mary died (I think 1848) and David and children moved to Peoria County, IL, in 1850's. David died there in 1861. David's daughter Mary Ann married Amos Dunn. Mary Ann and their two little children died in IL in 1859. I don't know anything about the Dunn connection, before or since. David's son Robert Ferguson was a miller who lived in Pendleton County, WVA, married first Martha Henkle North and then Sarah North, her sister. He moved to Peoria County, IL, in the early 1850's. David's son John Henry (born 1828 in WVA) married Alice Preston in Peoria County, IL, and they had 9 sons. All lived in the area of Trivoli, Peoria County, IL. and many are buried there. David had several other children but I have no information on them after they moved to IL. I would guess there are descendants of these Andersons spread all over the country and I'd really like to know who they are and find out if any of them can solve the mysteries surrounding the original John Anderson. Don't know where he came from, who he married, when he died, where he's buried, if he had more children than David, etc. Susan in Milwaukee

    3. I've found Dalton in the 1917-1918 draft reg. lists, also in the censuses back to 1900 so far. At 1900 "Vina" Wyatt probably lives next door, but the bottom of the census pg. is obscured by a large black spot. I will check further on ancestry later tonite, and forward the census extracts to you. ...Kim Danielsen AZDIONE@aol.com wrote: I have been looking for information on my grandmother, she died in 1929 Houston CO. 1. Roll Call: William Anderson b1800
    2. sellers
    3. My Anderson Ancestor is William Anderson, born about 1800, died 7/5/1859 (death reported to Braxton county, VA/WV). He married Mary Magdalene (last name unknown), who was born around 1800 and died 1876 in Hacker Valley, Webster County, WV. Children: Rebecca (married Jesse Cowger) Alfred (married Barbara Snyder) Allen (married Mae Snyder) Lusanna/Susanna George Lewis (married Sarah Snyder) Alexander (married Anna Snyder) Emily (married Solomon Arbogast) Angeline/Anjeline Jane (married Daniel Snyder) Yes, the Snyders were all brothers and sisters. Mary Magdalene is burried next to Jesse Cowger's mother, in Webster county, where Rebecca and Jesse used to live. Supposedly, William is burried there as well, but there is no marked grave for him. We have no idea who William's parents or Mary's parents are. Some theorize that William's parents are Robert Baxter and Mary Walker Anderson, but we've seen no evidence of this. So, we are still looking! Hopefully, someone out there knows something! Thanks, Lora Sellers
