I have a Joseph Anderson who was born in 1750 and came to il. And died in Randolph Co.
I'm trying to fill in the blanks on my husband's ancestors. Starting with his grandfather. Elmer "Grant" ANDERSON B: 12 Jan 1884 Rochester, Beaver Co. PA M: Ida GAMBLE 9 April 1904, Rochester, PA 3 children Donald, Hazel and Howard. Ida and Grant divorced about 1914, children went to live with Gamble grandparents. World War ! draft registration finds Grant living in Fairmont, Marion Co. WV. We have letters written by Grant postmarked from Fairmont WV in 1945, that's the last we know of him. No death record Grant's Mother was Drucilla "Drucie" (maiden name unknown) B: 19 June 1867 Rochester, Beaver Co PA M: ?? ANDERSON? M: August FARR (date unknown) B: Ohio D: 15 Nov 1928 Fairmont, Marion Co. WV buried in Rochester, PA - don't know which cemetery. Would love to find information on Grant's father and Drucilla's family. Only recently discovered that Grant's real name was Elmer but he seldom used it. One record has him Grant "E" Anderson. This was a very dysfunctional family that wouldn't walk across the street to say "Hi" to an other family member. Thanks, Judy in New Mexico
I am looking for anyone descended from this line. The Lawrence is supposedly Lurainie (female) and Augustus C is really Augustus P (Perry). Augustus, Gilbert (son of Gilbert), James and Lurainie all ended up in the Sulphur Springs area of Texas (Hopkins Co), Arkansas and Oklahoma also. Della should be Delila I think, she is in the census later as Delila. Gilbert C. Anderson b.c1797 GA. and his sons. Gilbert married Della b.c1812 SC. These sons were born in Tuscaloosa Co., Alabama. There is a picture said to be MYRA (MILLER) ANDERSON that has been passed around our family that has caused some confusion because some say that MYRA was either white or mulatto and may be listed as white on some of the census records. I am still researching this. Anyone that would like to view the picture please email me and I'll send it along with the information written on the back of the picture. I am hoping to make some kind of connection so I look forward to hearing from anyone that would like to share information and/or be able to add pieces to this puzzle. I am searching for my ancestor Thomas ANDERSON. He was born about 1790 in Washington County, PA. By 1825, he had married Charlotte MCCOMBS. In 1840, the family was living in Morris Twp, Washington, PA. I believe they migrated to Bellaire, Belmont, OH, in 1844. The family is located in 1850 in Bellaire where Thomas and his older sons were making a living as coalminers. Thomas and Charlotte's children are: Isaac C. ANDERSON, b. 7 Apr 1826 Thomas J. ANDERSON, Jr., b. 30 Dec 1831 James ANDERSON, b. abt 1834 Hannah J. ANDERSON, b. abt 1836 Stephen Fox
Hi, Jeff. Your name made me check because I have an Isaac Newton ANDERSON in my family line as well. However, my Isaac was born 10 Nov 1859 in Bellaire, Belmont, OH, and, as far as I know never left the state. Between 1900 and 1910, he moved to Hamilton County, OH, and then moved to Hamilton, Warren, OH, between 1920 and 1930. My Isaac died in Akron, Summit, OH, on 16 Jan 1949 and was buried in Knox County, OH. I can only go two more generations back, so I don't know whether or not Isaac was a family name. I did find your Isaac in the 1900 census as follows: Moreland Twp, Scott County, MO Anderson, Newton, Head, W M, b. 1852, m. 21 years, farmer. Anderson, Rebecca, Wife, W F, b. Nov 1855, 8 children (6 living). Anderson, Albert, Son, W M, b. Nov 1880. Anderson, Lizzie, Daughter, W F, b. Oct 1887. Anderson, Bertie?, Daughter, W F, b. Sep 1892. Anderson, Eliza, Daughter, W F, b. Jan 1896. Since the oldest child Albert is listed as born in Illinois, I must conclude that the family is there in 1880. The closest I can come to a match is: Carbondale Twp, Jackson, IL Anderson, Newton, W M, 30. Anderson, Mit, W F, 25. Anderson, Della M., W F, 2. Good luck! Hello List Members, I am sending my ANDERSON wanted list for the second time as I am unsure that it arrived to the list, as I believed that I would have received a copy in the digest mode that I subscribe to and I didn't. My missing ANDERSONS were all born in Coleraine, Northern Ireland, and all emigrated to the USA, their names are: Annie ANDERSON, b. 26 April, 1847, her husband's surname was GILMORE, more than that I do not know, Thomas ANDERSON, b. 28 February, 1849, wife's name unknown, their parents were Aaron ANDERSON and Jane BLACK. Jane must have died, as Aaron married Martha GLENN in c. 1854. Aaron and Martha's children were: Samuel Glenn ANDERSON, b. 7 October, 1855, wife unknown, Mary ANDERSON, husbands surname was CUNNINGHAM, and Joseph McDonnell ANDERSON, b. 21 June, 1861, wife unknown. If any one can connect to any of these people I would be pleased to hear from you. My name is Jimmy ANDERSON and I am researching from New Zealand, and my e-mail address is <jimmy-a@xtra.co.nz> .
James and Samuel were the sons of Alice (nee ROBSON) ANDERSON and (husband's given name unknown). Alice Ann (age 4) and Ellen Jane (age 2) first appear on the 1860 census of Kenosha City, Kenosha County Ward 1, WI. Their parents were Isabel (nee PAUL) and James ROBSON. In 1880 Alice's occupation is shown as School Teacher. Don't find her on the 1900, but by 1910 she is back in the family home, age 50, divorced, with her "own income", and with sons James R. age 24, and Samuel C, age 19. Both James and Samuel are shown as employed by Brass? Mills, James in a clerical capacity and Samuel as an inspector. Anyone see a connection?
I'm stuck on: Isaac Newton ANDERSON b. abt 1854 married to: Venzuila (sp?) I think you will probably find that location to be Adairsville, Bartow County, Georgia. I live near there in Floyd County. I did a search of Heritage Quest Census Records for 1860 and did not find Andrew Jackson Anderson. However, in the Ancestry.com 1850 records there was an Andrew J Anderson in adjoining county of Cherokee County, born abt 1842. Heritage Quest records have the following: 1860 Georgia, Cherokee County, Woodstock District, Canton Post Office Page 161 July 16, 1860 Dwelling #1151 Family #1233 James Anderson, age 48, male, laborer, born North Carolina Ann " " 47, female " " George " " 22, male Georgia Mary " " 21, female " Andrew " " 16, male " Nancy " " 18, female " Jasper " " 14, male " Malinda " " 12, female " Margarett " " 11, female " John " " 9, male " Turner " " 7, male " Sarah " " 5, female " Joseph " " 4, male " Franklin " " 3, male " 1870 census this family in Cherokee, Bells Dist, and Andrew is not. 1870 census of Fulton, Atlanta, Andrew Anderson age 28, RR Engineer, in Household of John and Nancy Hill, probably his sister.
