    3. Searching for the wife of JOHN COMER, thought to have been an ANDERSON. He was born ca 1675, d. 1766, Halifax co. The Comer and Anderson families shared relationships with the DAVENPORT, WOODSON, and LEGRAND families. Names common to later generations were Susannah, Agnes, Elizabeth, Anderson, Thomas, and Samuel. Would appreciate sharing information with persons interested in these families.

    1. [ANDERSON-L] Matthias ANDERSON, Fehmarn>Elmira NY
    2. I'm looking for information on the family of my great-grandfather, Matthias ANDERSON (probably changed from ANDERSEN or ANDRESEN). He was born about 1837 on the island of Fehmarn, and died in Binghamton NY on 26 SEP 1911. He is buried in Elmira, NY. He had six brothers, one named Louis, and possibly a sister or two. He married Bridget FLANAGAN, and they appear to have had 4 sons (Theodore, Matthias, James, and Edward) and a daughter Margaret (maybe a second daughter Mary). Any information on Matthias or his parents would be greatly appreciated. Dick Lester rlester500@aol.com

    2. Just got back from Cass Co. Illinois to work on my line. Someone there gave me a good tip for reading stone that were worn down. Thought I would share it, although some of you might already know it... Take a handful of flour and rub it on the letters. The letters fill up with flour and make it easy to read the inscription. I took pictures with the flour on the stones and they all turned our great. Good luck hunting!! Bobbie

    1. Andy G. Anderson
    2. Greetings all. Here is my brick wall that I'm hoping someone out there may have a wrecking ball for. My ggrandfather was Andy G. Anderson. I've also seen it spelled AndersEn on different papers. This is what I Do know about him. He was born March 1, 1879 in Corey PA, Married Julia Ann Demming, date unknown, in PA, probably in Venago Co,still trying to verify this. They had two children, Ilene Caroline (married Raymond Osgood, and this is my direct line) and Helen Elizabeth (married Carl Glen Rohrbaugh). Julia also had another daughter, Wilda May (married Paul Powers, lived in Girrad Oh) from a previous marriage. He was a member of a Lathers Union, and Gibson Heights Presb. Church, (I assume in Youngstown OH, but I'm still verifying this also. He died in 1928 at St. Elizabeths hospital of a cerebral hemorage, assumed to be in Youngstown OH, because that is where he is buried. (Tod Cemetary) He lived in Youngstown for 21 years, and in Kane PA prior to that. Now, this is where my info starts to get sketchy: His obituary notice lists his parents as Mr. and Mrs. Christian Anderson. I'm still trying to track down a copy of his death certificate to try to verify his mothers name. Also listed is another daughter, Mrs. Paul Howard. This is the first mention I've seen of this person. I can't find any evidence that he was married before. His brothers are listed as Elmer, in Pittsburgh PA, George, in Youngstown, and Herman in Chicago, but I have No information on any of them yet. I haven't been working on this specific branch for very long, but since I'm working on a huge tree, so I'm hoping I'll be able to get lucky. TIA Sherry Osgood Chestnutt

    3. I have been looking for over 30 years for information on the parents and siblings of my great grandfather, James Anderson, born 4 Nov 1826 KY, died 28 Jun 1881 Ashton, Clark Co., Missouri and married 1 Mar 1860 to Mary Elizabeth (Richey) Layton. Has been said his parents were from Virginia and has been also said he had sisters Juda and Lucinda and brothers Jake and one other, name not known. First had located him in 1853 in Clark Co. MO and although there were other Andersons in that county all family had said he was not related to any of them and to date not been able to see that he was. I have been thru most of Clark Co. MO records that are available and have not been able to locate any info. My grandmother Juda Anderson born 1879 was only 2 years old when he died and didn't know anything of her father. Juda md Henry S. Dyer 1904. Other children of James and Mary were: Thomas J., Sidney Van, James F., Adaline, May Bell, Jacob, Rosetta and John Wesley Anderson. James was 34 when married and wonder if he had been married before. Have checked 1850 census of Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky for all James Andersons and only couple were even remotely possible I thought. So if anyone can help me with this family I will be ever greatful, thank you, Gladys L.
