    1. [ANDERSON-L] Request for Assistance, Please
    2. Medlin, Harold
    3. Like you and all of us; I'm searching for connections to my family's members and past. Maybe we can help each other with the locked doors of family history. Most of the "Medlins", that I've met have all had the same or similar physical characteristics and mannerisms, but the connection found is only by surname. I have my Grandmother's Bible, but it's very hard to read, due to age, quality of paper, handwriting, and written with lead pencil. I'll be computer enhancing it soon and imaging family pictures to help with this quest. To start: Great-Grand parents (father's side); Josiah (Josire) and Mary Alice Medlin, Grand parents; Egan Eldridge Medlin (born in Charlotte, NC)and Flora Alice (Ferren) Medlin (born in Old Duncan, IL), lived in Pinkstaff, IL before moving to Judsonia, AR. There were 13 children in Dad's family (and he was the last born)and were mostly grown up by the time my father was born. Grand Dad was a "Share Cropper" in Judsonia, AR and died in his late forties from "Old Age" and my Grand Mother died soon after. After his mother died, Dad (Ralph Eldridge Medlin; nickname "Red") joined the "CCC" and work there until moving to Fitchburg, MA to live with Aunt Jesse. A year later he moved to Westminster, MA and drafted into the Army. Served in WW II and returned to Westminster, MA and was married to my mother three years later and then I was born in 1951. The three older sisters that father stayed in connect with were; Aunt Agnes (Medlin) Horton of Hammond, IN, Jessie (Medlin) Adams of Pittsburg, CA, and Fannie Medlin. I'm also looking for my cousin Dorthey Anderson, daughter of Helen Anderson from Little Rock, AR, my father's neice. In closing, with the hope that "This" generation of Medlins will be able find family kinships and binding ties to give to present and future generations. > > >Harry Medlin >Fax: (508) 831-5704 >E-Mail: medlin@wpi.edu >

    3. I'm not quite sure if either are connected or not, but I have a couple lines of Andersons (and Anderssens) that I am linked to in Minnesota. I don't know what nationality. Anyway, you can check them out at my web-site, if you'd like. I have 20some MN Anderson names, but some of them are more recent. Just use my search engine on my front page (not the one at the top, but the one further down the page), and search both Anderson and Anderssen to see if we're connected. 3. I am trying to trace my maternal grandparents line. Here's what I know so far. My ggrandfather was Lonnie Anderson (b. 8-11-1876 d. 7-30-1955) and his wife was Jennie Broom (b. 3-11-1890 d. 1-21-1953). I believe they were both born in and married in Union County NC. Much of my maternal family s buried at Midway UMC and Lonnie and Jennie lived across the street from the Church on Old Stacks Road in Monroe NC. I know that Lonnie had a sister Mandy (Amanda) (b. 10-17-1864 d. 3-24-1947) and she had an unidentified male twin. They had 11 children, all born in Union County NC and many married in Chesterfield County SC. They were Steve (m. Laura Steen) - relocated to Kannapolis NC - is buried there somewhere, Alfred (b. 8-16-1913 d. 6-26-1997) (m. Edith Rory), Albert (m. Vera, then m. Margie - moved to Lancaster SC with her and is buried there), Joe Neal (m. Eulayla Thrower Douglas), Jim (b. 9-15-1912 d. 1-23-1996) (m. Ruby Pierce - lived in Baltimore MD area), Wade (b. 9-24-1918 d. 5-7-1991) (m. Pearline Lyles), Mae Belle (b. 7-26-1908 d. 12-13-1997) (m. Sanford Ford), Gervis (b. 1-29-1910 d. 5-1998) (m. My family roots appear to have migrated from Anne Arundel County Maryland around 1785. I have not been able to locate any from the Virginias. Just a note as to the name no other reference is made... 1. [ANDERSON-L] William C Anderson
    2. Hi subscribers--thought I'd post my Andersons again hoping for a connection. William C. Anderson, ca 1825, Georgia, married Elizabeth Lott, ca 1820, S. Carolina, in Benton County, Alabama in 1843. This family was in Randolph County, Alabama in 1850, in Talladega County in 1860 (the portion that became Clay County). William was killed in the Civil War and his widow, Elizabeth Lott Anderson married G. W. Joiner and moved to Bell County, Texas. William C. and Elizabeth Lott Andersons known children were: Mary, James and Wiley Timothy Anderson. There were other children but we believe some of them stayed in Alabama. Looking for William C. Anderson's parents. They are thought to be Philip and Margaret Elizabeth Anderson. Please contact me if this is your line. Thanks Barbara

    1. [ANDERSON-L] William Anderson family, (New Jersey)
    2. Arthur E. Divine
    3. I am seeking information on the William Anderson family of New Jersey in the 1700's. William's wife was named Martha. They had eight (8) children: (1) Sarah, died young, (2) Willie, died young, (3) Hannah, who married Michael Schooley, (4) Priscilla, who married Matthew Cunningham, (5) Elizabeth, who married William McDowell, (6) Martha, who married John Ross, (7) Peggy, who married Alexander Kirkpatrick, and (8) Molly, who married John Riddell (prior to 1751). I am a descendant of the John Riddell/Molly Anderson family. John Riddell had been previously married to the widow Rachel Stockton (nee Stout) in 1741 in Somerset County, New Jersey. There was one child by this marriage, Anna Riddell. Somehow this marriage failed as Rachel Riddell assumed her Stockton name and lived beyond the time of the marriage of John Riddell to Molly Anderson. Records on Rachel Stockton lists her daughter Ann Riddell. The will of Rachel Stockton mentions her daughter Ann Riddell. The children of John Riddell and Molly Anderson were: (1) William Riddle (Riddell), born in Boundbrook, New Jersey September 01, 1751, (2) Col. John Riddle, a revolutionary War hero, born December 04, 1761 on the banks of the Raritan River in New Jersey, and (3) Molly Riddle, born in New Jersey, date unknown, married to _______ Casterline, of New York State, where he died. They had one son and two daughters, some of whose descendants lived in northern Ohio. Molly was buried at Boundbrook, New Jersey. I descend through William Riddle (b.1751). I have read that William Anderson descended from an ancient family in Scotland, went from the north of Ireland to Liverpool, England, where they acquired great wealth by merchandizing. They came to New Jersey about 1750 and their descendants have frequently intermarried with the Riddells and Riddles. If you have information on this William Anderson, please contact me. I would like to learn more about William and his role, if any, in the American Revolution. I am willing to share what Information I have on the famliy of John Riddell and Molly Anderson.
