Mary ANDERSON married William HUNTSMAN on Feb. 29, 1820, in Harrison county, Ohio. On the next farm lived a Thomas Anderson, married to Nancy and son of Samuel (per his will of 1844), and I wonder if this could have been Nancy's father? The 1850 Belmont County, Ohio census shows that Mary Anderson is no longer in the Wm.. HUNTSMAN household, so perhaps she preceded her father in death and thus was not mentioned in his will. An early Harrison county book states that Thomas was an early resident of Short Creek, Harrison County, Ohio, and lived there in 1802. Can anyone help me with Mary Anderson, or Thomas? Sandra
I am going to post our Andersons again. We begin with John Anderson b. VA 1784. That is all we know about him. Our line from this John is Henry Madison Anderson, b.15 February 1805 in VA, he married Sara Collier 1828 in KY. We have all of Henry and Sara's children, but we do not have any of his siblings. >From Henry Madison we go to William Walter, John Albert and Mary Mae who was my husband's mother. The Anderson list has been very slow lately, I wanted to post this again and see if anyone can help me, William H. Anderson, was born between 1848 - 1853,I'm not sure of the birth record, all I have is what is on his tombstone, I know he died in 1915 and is buried in a little town called Beaver,in Raleigh co. W.V.His grandparents is suppose to be Obadiah Anderson & Catharine Conrad of Orange Co. Virginia, his parents are suppose to be Obadiah Anderson & Emaline Booton of the same area. His first wife was Elizabeth (Betty) Bryant, Marriage was in 1875, not sure where but I believe it could be Rockingham Co. Virginia, since the last child was born their, they had three children as follows : Tildon Jackson , changed to Samuel Jackson (b) 1876 Hiram Angus (b) 1881 Bessie (b) Aug.27,1884, Bessie I know was born in Rockingham Co. Va., lived in Lynchburgh for awhile and returned to Rockingham Co. and died their and was buried at Mill Creek the same place that her husband Charles Miller was buried. William's second family : He married Virginia Ann Smith (abt)1890 - 1892 probably in Green Co. since this is where their first six children were born, maybe in a little town called Wolftown near Standersville, first child's name was Lillian (b)1892 Mary Emma (b)1894 William (Bill) (b)1897 McKennly (b)1898 Nellie (b) Jane (b)1905, I would like some idea where these children might have gone to school, and where William and his first wife was married and something about his first wife's family, I would also like to find out something about his second wife's family. I feel that if I could find their marriage records I might have a place to start, I have been searching this for two years and am still at a brick wall, can anyone help me. I am looking for lead on a Scottish branch of my family in regards to one Alexander Anderson born July 24 1820, Parish of Redgorton, Perthshire, Scotland, son of William Anderson and Margaret Guthrie. Alexander was a gardener of note commencing an apprenticeship with Messrs Dickson and Turnbull, nurserymen, Perth. The nurseries at the time were under the superintendence of Mr Anderson (a relative?). Alexander was to move on eventually to Kingston House in Dorsetshire where he was to commence work in September 1848. He was to spend at least 28 years (and I suspect more years) working there as a Gardener. Apparently he was quite an expert on the cultivation of pears and had success in competition at the Royal Horticultural of London and Royal Caledonian Horticultural societies despite having to operate in what is said to be an ungenial climate. I believe that Alexander was to die on July 12 1896. Most of Alexanders other siblings and his parents were to move from Kinnoull to Australia over a period from 1848 leaving only one brother Laurence to stay on in Perth. I must confess........I just found a web site which includes the Anderson in Alaska show my mother told me about. Unfortunately, she got things a bit confused. The Anderson was Oscar not Roscoe; and it was Anchorage not Fairbanks. She said the photo of Roscoe Anderson bore an amazing resemblance to her father, Omer ROSCOE Aurand (whose mother was Kathryn ANDERSON). Coincidence????? My research has not indicated that Kathryn Anderson had a brother or uncle by that name, but who knows for sure. Does anyone out there know anything about Roscoe Anderson of Fairbanks, Alaska?
