    3. Donna, Note that you are also guilty of failing to post information about your gggrandfather that might help others help you. For your information, my great uncle was Green Berry Anderson. He was the son of Richard Anderson and Martha ____. He was born 27 Mar 1834, presumably in Lincoln Co., TN. The family moved to Lawrence Co., MO, where my great grandfather, Taylor Anderson, was born. Both Green Berry and Taylor moved to Indian Territory. Green Berry died 15 Sep 1923 in Wheeler Co., TX. He had three wives: Sophia Hayes, Martha Henson and Jane Tabor. If this is your Green Berry Anderson, I can put you in contact with other direct descendants. 1. [ANDERSON-L] ANDERSON, John in Tuscola Co 1870's
    2. Searching for info on a John Anderson. I have very little to search for at this point, however, i do know he was living in Tuscola Co, MI about1870. His son Clark Anderson, left Tuscola Co about 1870 and moved to Nebraska. John was still living at the time as were 7 or 8 siblings. John was a widower as his wife Cathrine Hutchins Anderson had passed away while Clark was still a child. Previously the family had lived in Kinston, Ontario, canada, and Jefferson Co., NY. Any info would really be helpful. Would appreicate any advice or clues. Thanks! Peggy

    1. [ANDERSON-L] Anderson name
    2. Trish
    3. I am researching my Norwegian heritage and have found the Anderson name...well, kinda. My gggrandfather was Andreas Olson. His sons took Andreason, but took the farm name of Stubberud when the came over. I am not sure if they all did but a couple did. For many years the family thought the name was Anderson, not so. Some relatives had wasted time looking for Anderson, to no avail. My suggestion: Take the first name of the father literally..Andreas and not Anders. Thank God I had the only written record still around of my GGrandfather with his middle name as Andreason.

    3. My Great grandfather had a brother named William Green Anderson. My Anderson line left Louisa CO VA in 1807 and moved to Garrard Cp KY. He got his Green name from his mothers "Cummins" side of the family. She had a aunt who was a Green from Garrard CO KY. Green family as many lines in Garrard CO Ky may have been also from Louisa CO VA.. ----- Original Message ----- From: freddie anderson <andersfw@telepath.com> To: <ANDERSON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, September 20, 1999 3:07 PM Subject: [ANDERSON-L] JOHN GREEN ANDERSON > Hi Melvin, Unlike you, I have`nt found any Anderson`s with Green in > their name. 2. Dear Vera, I was interested to see your email concerning John Green ANDERSON of Weatherford, TX. It so happens I have posted some information concerning the ANDERSON surname on the McLennan Co., TX, TCGenWeb Site (also the Central Texas Genealogical and Historical Society site). It may interest you and there is a possibility, although I have no real connection yet to your John Green ANDERSON, that my gg-grandfather may be related to your ANDERSON. His name was James ANDERSON, b. 1824, and had I believe two sons that lived in Weatherfors, TX. One was William P. and the other was James POLK ANDERSON. After having read my post to the Query and Obit sections of the McLennan Website, I would really appreciate any comments you may have. Sincerely, Douglas Anderson La Porte, TX

    2. Jim Bryant
    3. Does anyone recognize any of these names? My great-granduncle, Andrew Lair Anderson, remained in MO. when the remainder of the family moved to Texas. His sister, Francis Ann also stayed there. We have little info. on these Anderson relatives. Most of their children were born in Lewis Co., Mo. Other MO. counties mentioned in the history are Shelby and Knox. Andrew Lair Anderson's children were named: John Joseph Rebecca Sarah (m. Joseph S. Nelson) Martha J. Mary Elizabeth(m. Wesley Cave) Elizabeth J. Benjamin C.(died young) Andrew Matilda. The above were born from 1836 to 1857. Frances Ann Anderson and John Jones children's names were typical except for one: Mary E William H. Elizabeth H. John A.(wife:Jane, children: William,Alice,James,Florence,Mary,May) Napoleon B. Mariah. Do any of these names look familiar? I have info on their ancestry that I will exchange for their descendants. Since I have been researching this line of my family I have came across several Andersons that as far as I know is no relation to me with the given names of Berry Green or Green Berry. Is there some reason that I am not aware of that these names are so often found in the Anderson line? Thanks, Melvin E. Spears Sr. <Spears@MyFamily.org>

    3. I am looking for info on my Ggfather Bernt Andreason Stubberud. He came over with a brother Anton, and later brother Bernhard came. Some took the Andreason and Anderson names, some the farm name of Stubberud. Their father was Andreas. I know some of my ggfather's line but lost Anton along the way. He was born around 1870s near or in Fluberg, Norway. He was possibly in the areas of North Dakota-Montana border and possibly Minnesota, around Red Top or Austin. Thanks.

    3. Sorry, I forgot the dates in my query about William and Elizabeth (Hammer) Anderson. Their daughter Dorothy Anderson Bennett was born December 20, 1852 and died in August, 1935. So that would make the parents born in the early 1850's. Thanks to Sandra F. for reminding me. Jill
